Remembering Mary Hulgan

Mary Cameron Hulgan passed away on February 21, 2025, and was a life-long resident of Panama City. She graduated from Bay High School in 1979 and was a business manager for Dr. Robert P Cameron, her late father. She went on to study mathematics at Florida State University and continued her graduate studies at the University of Tennessee. In 1990, Mary returned to Panama City to serve in various leadership roles at the US Naval Surface Warfare Center. She devoted 32 years to federal service before retiring in 2022.

Mary is best known for giving back to her community. She served on the board of the Panama City Music Association for many years to help bring music and the arts to Bay County. She also served as a mentor to young professionals attending Leadership Bay and inspired many young girls to become strong, confident leaders as past president of Girls Incorporated, Panama City chapter.

Mary had a wonderful personality and a smile that could light up a room. She enjoyed simple pleasures such as cooking with family and friends and spoiling her adopted pets. Mary often said the key to being happy and content is having something to look forward to, such as the anticipation each PCMA season brings to the community. She leaves behind her loving husband Jim, and will be dearly missed by her PCMA family and many life-long friends.
